Steven Chu

Steven Chu, CPO, owner of Valley Prosthetics & Orthotics, is an American Board of Certification (ABC) Certified Practitioner in Prosthetics and Orthotics. With over 20 years of rehabilitation and patient care experience, Steven is able to utilize his broad base of knowledge and experience with each patient. Steven started VPO with the goal of providing his patients with the highest level of personal care and attention while offering access to the latest in prosthetic and orthotic technology. Steven’s focus is on personally attending to each patient’s individual needs.

Steven’s education includes a bachelor's degree from CSU, Long Beach in Kinesiology-Sports Medicine along with Post Graduate Certificates in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the University of Connecticut-Newington Children’s Hospital program. Clinical experience includes caring for patients within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Shriners Hospital of Philadelphia. Additionally Steven serves as a Prosthetics Board Examiner for ABC. Professional education is essential to providing the highest quality patient care. Steven is trained and experienced in the latest bionic technologies offered, including the Ottobock C-Leg and Ossur Rheo Knee for prosthetic patients along with the latest "Intelligent" Stance Control Knee Joints for patients needing an orthosis. Pediatric expertise includes cranial molding helmets (plagiocephaly), Boston Bracing (scoliosis), DAFOs (CP, etc.), and pediatric upper and lower extremity prostheses.

In his spare time, Steven enjoys being with his wife and 2 children. Steven, an avid skier, maintains his PSIA Ski Instructor certification and has trained with local volunteer ski patrols.

    Christopher Snyder, CPO/LPO

    Chris Snyder

    Chris Snyder is a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist who started at Valley Prosthetics & Orthotics in June of 2012. While in high school, Chris developed an interest in the O&P profession. He graduated with a B.S. from Slippery Rock University and later from Century College in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, with post baccalaureate certificates in both Orthotic and Prosthetic practitioner programs. He is a U.S. Army veteran, having served tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

    Scott Lafferty, CPO/LPO

    Scott Lafferty

    Scott Lafferty is an American Board of Certification (ABC) Certified Practitioner in Prosthetics & Orthotics and licensed in Pennsylvania by the state board of medicine. He graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Physiology along with a certification as a Personal Trainer from Shippensburg University. He later received his Post Graduate Certificates in Prosthetics & Orthotics from Northwestern University. Scott joined the VPO team in December of 2015 after spending three years with NOPCO in Philadelphia based out of CHOP and serving three years with Ultraflex Systems Inc. as Clinical and Technical support.

    Rae Buhosky, Orthotic Resident

    Rae Buhosky

    Rae Buhosky is a clinical resident who joined the VPO team in June of 2016. Rae returned to her Lehigh Valley roots after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with her Masters of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics. While attending the University of Pittsburgh, she served as the president of the Orthotics & Prosthetic Student Organization, participated in an O&P service trip to Quito, Ecuador, and her thesis research focused on custom prosthetic liners. Before attending the University of Pittsburgh, Rae graduated with her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Dickinson College, where she was part of the women's lacrosse team and a resident assistant.

    Jennifer Hutchens, Office Manager

    Jen Hutchens

    Jen Hutchens joined the VPO team in 2012. She has been in the medical field for 10 years with previous experience in DME and O&P. She received her Associates degree from Northampton Community College with a major in Office Administration in 2010. She is very courteous and will always find the time to assist with making an appointment or trying to answer insurance questions. With her eagerness to learn and dedication to her work, she always takes that extra step for patients and her co-workers.
